Pizza Party on Friday evening, September 25

We'll be hosting an informal welcome party on the night before the wedding for all those who will be coming into town that day. We'll be serving wine, beer and pizza from Salamanca's own Napoli Pizza shop. Pizzas will arrive around 5:30 PM, but all are welcome to stop by anything that evening. The pizza party will be held at the reception site, which is the Quaker picnic shelter. Please give us a call if you have any questions.

Hope to see you there!

Questionable weather prediction for the wedding!

According to the 2009 Farmer's almanac, a relatively reputable(?) source for a long-term weather forecasts, September in the Allegany region will be slightly cooler and drier. For the weekend itself, they predict thunderstorms (sweet!) and sun.

Another weather-related tidbit...

There's a 50/50 chance that the first frost occurs before our wedding in Allegany! The weather may be questionable, but the views will be nice!

Weather in Salamanca, NY

We wanted to share some climate data about the Allegany region for folks contemplating camping or staying in cabins for the wedding. Using a 16-year dataset, we computed average highs and lows for the weekend of the wedding (September 25-27). During the past 16 years, Salamanca reached an average high of 68 degrees Fahrenheit and temperatures dropped to an average low of 39 degrees F; Not too shabby! A little on the cool side in the evening, but to be expected in the Allegany hills.

Keep in mind that Salamanca can experience daily high temperatures anywhere from 51-89 degrees F and daily low temperatures can range from 29-55 degrees F (brrr!). As for precipitation, it looks like a 50:50 chance, so one might want to bring an umbrella! Data provided by the National Climatic Data Center (NCDC).
